Vineyards

The beautiful Alexander Valley
Wasson Vineyards in the heart of the Alexander Valley is one of the longest family owned Vineyards in Sonoma County. Fred & Ruby Wasson born and raised in Alexander Valley, currently head the extended family. Ruby‘s grandfather, Shadrock Osborn first planted grapes in Sonoma County in 1862. Fred’s father arrived in Sonoma County in 1901. Fred is now retired and son-in-law Bill Munselle and grandson Bret (being the 5th generation of our family to farm in Alexander Valley), manage the Vineyards now with a sense of compassion for the land. The Vineyards are tended with the most modern sustainable practices along with years of tradition. Wasson Vineyards has a long track record of growing grapes for award winning wines. Bill has worked on the Chardonnay vineyard to achieve that perfect vine-balance of fruit ripeness with long hang time to develop flavor. The vines are 31 years old and were planted on the Robert Young clone. This vineyard is located next to the Russian River and benefits from the morning fog following the river inland.
